Home to the 55,950 acre Hartwell Lake, with nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline, Anderson County, South Carolina offers many opportunities for boating. Bordering South Carolina and Georgia on the Savannah, Tugaloo, and Seneca Rivers, Hartwell Lake was created by Hartwell Dam which is located on the Savannah River, seven miles below the point at which the Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers join to form the Savannah River.
